Colton Underwood announces engagement

It wasn’t so long ago that we were reporting on former professional footballer and former star of The Batchelor Colton Underwood, was coming out as a proud gay man. It wasn’t exactly a smooth transition as some people were not only holding a grudge about his previous behaviour with his ex-girlfriend that got him into some hot water but also a bit or resentment that he got a Netflix show out of it.

To us that sounds an iddy bit like sour grapes. Admittedly coming out is very hard for a massive amount of LGBTQ+ people so we don’t think it’s really fair to begrudge someone making the most of theirs when they are in the public eye.

We whiffed a bit of jealousy as well as hottie Gus Kenworthy was hi ‘gay guide’ and well, his bulging muscles and tatts would turn a straight and gay pretty much.

Not long after he came out, Colton announced that he had a boyfriend and they went Instagram official less than a year ago. Well y’know what, now they only just gone and got engaged!!

Some may say ‘Well that was quick!’ but hey, when you know, you know. Colton Underwood is now actually, literally, a former Batchelor as he has announced his engagement to boyfriend Jordan C. Brown. 

In a statement to People magazine, Colton said: “I’m extremely happy! 2021 was the most transformative year of my life. Starting 2022 off with my best friend, teammate and now fiancé is something I never thought was going to be possible.”

Underwood is 30 and charity fundraiser Brown, 39, have been dating for less than a year but spent a romantic weekend in Central Coast of California which is where they decided to take the plunge and spend the rest of their lives together.

Colton went on: “After my birthday, Jordan and I went to Big Sur for a weekend getaway to decompress and relax in nature. I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful place to celebrate an amazing milestone in my life and relationship.”

Not sure if that last bit was just an advert but hey ho! Congrats to Colton, love is indeed love and frankly it's just nice to get a bit of good news right now! These are trying times and although no doubt some people will be critical on social media (SHOCKER) we say CONGRATS COLTON!!
